Recent Developments

16 March 2017

While I have been making regular updates to the design side of the site, I have been neglecting this page for a bit. Much has happened since the last update. In 2016 I was privileged to make my Dallas Opera debut by relighting Show Boat, helped create a beautiful Alcina in Boston, and worked with several new companies in and around the Chicagoland area. I am currently working at William Street Rep on a Chicagoland premier of the play Any Other Name by George Brant. This production will also be moving to Theatre Wit in Chicago proper in April.

Chicago is treating me well. Photos of my Chicago premiere, Fallen created by the fantastic Matthew Ozawa, can now be seen on the designs page. I am very proud of this new work. A few shows have been added to the calendar. In 2015 I will be remounting the recent production of Streetcar Named Desire at both Kentucky Opera and Opera Santa Barbara.

It has been a busy few months. I left San Francisco recently to become a resident assistant lighting designer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Before leaving, I had the pleasure of designing A Streetcar Named Desire for the Merola Opera Program which will also be seen at Opera Santa Barbera and Kentucky Opera early next year. Later this year in Chicago I will be designing Fallen, an original piece conceived as part of Mozawa's inaugural season.

14 April 2014

Back in San Francisco for another season at the San Francisco Opera. Just flew in from Vilnius, Lithuania, where I remounted Barber of Seville for the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. I am looking forward to a busy season starting soon with productions of Show Boat, la Taviata, and Madame Butterfly.

2 December 2013

Another season at the San Francisco Opera has come to a close. This past year I assisted on several new or world premiere productions including Dolores Claiborne composed by Tobias Picker and lit by Chris Akerlind. I returned to my collaboration with the Merola Opera Program, designing lights for their recent production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Up next I am heading to NYC for the winter, before heading back west for the San Francisco Opera's spring season.

11 December 2012

Another fall season with the San Francisco Opera has come to a close, and I get to spend some time on the east coast for the holidays before heading to Chicago for the month of January. Then it is back to San Francisco for the spring show The Secret Garden in Berkeley California. Please take a look at the lighting pages as I have added photos from my most recent design, La Finta Giardiniera with the Merola Opera Program.
